II. as a Modern review

These articles review the culture happening immediately around us on the streets of the East Village in New York City. They also cover work from the bold artists and writers who paved the way for us to be here— from Marcel Duchamp to James Baldwin to Penny Slinger to Marsha P. Johnson.

We aim to emphasize creative work and support criticism as strongly as we support reverence for the uncompromising artist. We particularly enjoy supporting analog or in-person ideas and experiences.

We wholeheartedly welcome unsolicited submissions of all varieties, so long as they’re good.
